Barry Youth Council

We are a group of young people aged 11-17 who represent the views and opinions of young people in Barry. We represent schools, youth clubs, youth organisations and our peers.

We believe that young people have a right to be involved in decisions that affect them and their communities.

What do we do?

  • We work closely with Barry Town Council and support the Barry Town Mayor’s charities.
  • We work with local decision-makers to make sure young people’s views are taken seriously.
  • We organise and get involved in different projects to improve Barry for young people such as fundraising for charities, supporting community events, improving local parks and much more
