The Mayor of Barry, Councillor Ian Johnson, will be holding a Mayor’s Spring Market on Saturday 30th March from 10 am – 2pm at the Cemetery Approach Community Centre, showcasing a number of talented arts and craft makers from the local area.
Admission is free, and it’s a great opportunity to shop for that perfect handmade gift. Alongside the local crafters, Barry Town Council and Tiny Toes will also be running Easter themed activities and refreshments will be sold on the day supporting the Mayor of Barry’s chosen charities; 2Wish and Mind in the Vale.
Mind in the Vale is an independent mental health charity who affiliates to Mind National. They work with and for people who experience mental health problems, providing information so people are aware of their rights and can make informed choices. 2Wish’s mission is to ensure that all those affected by the sudden and traumatic death of a child or young adult aged 25 or under throughout Wales receive the bereavement support they deserve.
The following week, on the 6th April, the Mayor of Barry will be holding a Twmpath – A Welsh Night featuring Cats Claw, at the Barry Town Football Clubs Jenner Suite to celebrate the end of his Mayoral year. Tickets can be purchased from the Barry Town Council website.
