Mayor of Barry Town Council 2025/2026 – Final Update
Outgoing Mayor, Councillor Clarke, said the past year has gone very quickly. He and his Consort had a busy year but enjoyed every moment.
He attended over 100 events and met many interesting people, hearing inspiring stories along the way. He particularly enjoyed local community events organised by residents, where he saw first-hand how people use their talents to help others.
Councillor Clarke said that being Mayor has changed how he feels about Barry. He now has a deep respect for the town and its people, and every event he attended felt special.
He thanked his chosen charities, Valeways and Mind in the Vale. The final fundraising total is still being confirmed, but it is expected to be around £14,000, which will be shared between both charities. A final fundraising event will take place on 19 June 2026 (details below).
He also thanked everyone who supported him during his year as Mayor, including Members of the Senedd, fellow Councillors (especially Plaid Cymru members), Barry Town Council staff, Celebrant Andrew, Father Dan, Deputy Mayor Councillor Ewan Goodjohn, and his Consort.
