St David’s Day Festival 28 Feb & 1 Mar 2026

Barry Town Council to celebrate St David’s Day

Barry Town Council will be hosting the award winning St David’s Day Festival to celebrate St David’s Day in Barry. St David’s Day is celebrated nationally with Eisteddfods, music, competitions, parades and local events to remember Saint David, March 1 being marked as the day of his death in 589 AD.

The Barry St David’s Day Festival will take place on Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March 2026, with two separate events taking place across the weekend.

The Saturday event will feature a stage with live music, market stalls selling Welsh themed products, workshops, falconry, street entertainment and more. The event will take place from 10am until 3pm on King Square in Barry Town Centre and is free to attend. The event will also feature some free activities and low-cost workshops. You can shop the Welsh traders, grab some delicious food, and dance to local acts throughout the day!

Sunday’s main event is a daffodil-themed fun run at Barry Island. The Daffodil Dash is a 2k run for adults, children and dogs. Registration costs £6.00 (plus booking fee) for adults, with children and dogs being free – but all those attending need to register for a ticket. The fee includes access to the fun run, and daffodil themed accessories for the event.
