The Corporate Plan sets out how our Council will achieve its vision for Barry Town ‘Bringing Together Communities’. Our vision will guide us in how we plan, deliver and review services.
The introduction of the Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 has seen the Council adopt the 7 Wellbeing Goals for Barry:
Our plan details the activities our Council will strive to ensure the best possible outcomes for our citizens and communities and outlines how we work with partners and the local community to deliver these outcomes.
Our Council’s values underpin the delivery of the plan, these are: people, pride, and place. These values describe our professional behaviours, approach to our work and dealings with our service users..
Many of the activities included in the Corporate Plan will be delivered over a number of years and the plan provides a framework for service plans which set out year on year the activities undertaken to achieve these objectives.
Monitoring the actions in the framework provides us with the foundation for an annual progress report on the Corporate Plan which details the outcomes achieved.
The Annual Report covers the municipal year for each Town Mayor whose term of office runs from the Council’s Annual Meeting held in May for a period of one year.
Our Annual Report describes how Barry Town Council has contributed to the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of the community using Wales-wide sustainable development principles, with future objectives of the Council being included in the report.
The Well-Being and Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 places the future of good health at the centre of Wales.
Barry Town Council hopes, via this report, to show you how we work towards these aims and our vision of plans for the future.
