Mayor’s Christmas Market

The Mayor of Barry, Councillor Catherine Iannucci-Williams, will be holding a Mayor’s Christmas Market on Saturday 30th November from 10 am – 2pm at the Cemetery Approach Community Centre, showcasing a number of talented arts and craft makers form the local area.

Admission is free, and it’s a great opportunity to shop for that perfect handmade gift. Alongside the local crafters, refreshments will be sold on the day supporting the Mayor of Barry’s chosen charities; Vale Foodbank and Shua Home and Sanctuary.

The Vale Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust’s network of 428 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our local communities, as well as across the UK.

SHUA ( Safe House for Unwanted Animals) is a small local animal welfare charity staffed by volunteers. They operate an emergency rescue and rehabilitation service for stray, sick, injured & unidentified cats & kittens.

The event marks the start of the Christmas events for Barry Town Council, and will be a followed by the Partnership event “Barry Christmas Festival” at King Square and Central Park on the 22nd and 23rd November. Barry Town Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council are working together once more to provide a fun and exciting Christmas festival in the centre of Barry town.
