Dementia Friendly Barry
Barry Town Council is proud to be a Dementia Friendly organisation. Staff and Councillors have received Dementia Friends training and our Engagement and Events Team Manager works with the group; Dementia Friends Barry to discuss and action ways in which the group can improve the lives of those living with Dementia.
Dementia Friends Barry is led by Barry Town Council and is welcome to any organisation in Barry who is working towards becoming Dementia Friendly.
The group meet quarterly and is supported by staff from both Marie Curie and Alzheimer’s UK.
Barry Town Council also offer Dementia Friendly Project Grants. These are aimed at organisations/charities who have a project specific to those living with Dementia and are available at certain times throughout the year. If you have a project you think may benefit from this grant, please get in touch with the Engagement and Events Team Manager to discuss your project and find out if it is eligible for funding; engagementandevents@barrytowncouncil.gob.uk
