Dovecote Open Day

The Mayor of Barry, Cllr Dennis Clarke, and the Mayoress welcome you to visit the Dovecote, which the only Grade I listed building in Barry, on Sunday 21st September. This special opportunity is definitely one for the history fans, as there will be an opportunity to hear about the history of the site and some of its previous owners over some refreshments. Talks hosted by The Mayor of Barry and Victorian Barry Experience will also include information about the Grade II listed rectory which is also a part of this important location.

Tickets are £5 per person (+ booking fee) with all proceeds donated to the Mayor’s chosen charities: Mind in the Vale and Valeways. Tickets can be purchased from:

Advanced booking is required for this event. Visits and talks will start on the hour at 11.00am, 12.00pm and 1.00pm. Please note that wheelchair access to the Dovecote may be difficult, due to the narrow entrance.
