Engaging with the community is only half the story; to complete the “engagement cycle” we want to show how we have listened to what you have said. Below are some examples of the ways in which engagement has been effective.
Shops Closing is a big problem for our High Streets
We made £5,000 available in small business grants to support the town’s local economy.
The appearance of the Town is depressing sometimes
To improve your shopping experience & the appearance of the town, Christmas Lights can now be enjoyed at Park Crescent, Holton Road & High Street. We also worked in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to bring floral displays to Holton Road & Arriva Trains Wales to install planters at Barry Train Station.
Litter is a problem within the Town
Barry Town Council has launched a FREE Litter Picking Equipment Loan Service, where individuals, businesses and organisations can loan all equipment required to host their own litter picking events FREE of charge.
