The Council is committed to working towards A Prosperous Barry as one of its seven wellbeing goals. In its Corporate Plan, the Council has committed to promote local businesses and support a thriving local economy in Barry. A Prosperous Barry means skilled and well educated people, generating wealth for the local economy, providing employment opportunities, securing decent jobs and tackling poverty.

Barry Town Council has recently become a Real Living Wage Employer and is raising awareness of the real cost of living and paying its employees a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.
