***New for 2018*** Barry Town Council has made available five £1,000 grants for small businesses in Barry.

Barry Town Council’s new Small Business Grant Scheme is designed to help improve already established businesses in Barry and maximise their potential for growth. The Council is committed to working towards A Prosperous Barry as one of its seven wellbeing goals. In its Corporate Plan, the Council has committed to promote local businesses and support a thriving local economy in Barry. A Prosperous Barry means skilled and well educated people, generating wealth for the local economy, providing employment opportunities, securing decent jobs and tackling poverty.

Barry Town Council has recently become a Real Living Wage Employer and is raising awareness of the real cost of living and paying its employees a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.

ALL Grant Applications must be able to demonstrate their contribution to one or more of the Council’s seven Wellbeing Goals for Barry and all applications complying with the criteria will be considered at a meeting of the Finance Committee on 11 June 2018.

ALL applicants requesting funding must ensure that their governing document and latest audited accounts accompany the application in order for it to be considered. New organisations must submit a business plan / project plan / budget in place of audited accounts.

Please note: the submission of an application does not guarantee that a grant will be awarded. Barry Town Council is unable to consider applications from or on behalf of National Organisations, unless they can demonstrate that their services will benefit a significant proportion of the local community in Barry.

Applications must be returned by or before 18 May 2018.
