The Tree CharterBarry Town Council are proud to support the Charter for Trees, Woods and People. There are 10 principles of the Tree Charter and to show ours and Barry's commitment to them, we are asking residents to pop in to the Council Offices to sign to say they support them too. All it takes is two minutes to pop into reception and sign to say you support the principles of the Tree Charter which are:- 1. Thriving habitats for diverse species 2. Planting for the future 3. Celebrating the cultural impact of trees 4. A thriving forestry sector that delivers for the UK 5. Better protection for important trees and woods 6. Enhancing new developments with trees 7. Understanding and using the natural health benefits of trees 8. Access to trees for everyone 9. Addressing threats to woods and trees through good management 10. Strengthening landscapes with woods and trees We only have until the end of November to get as many signatures as possible so please do try and pop in to sign the charter. If you are a community group or would like to take the charter to a group of people for signing, then please contact robynwalsh@barrytowncouncil.gov.uk or message this page so we can arrange to send you a copy of the charter and more information.
