The Waterfront

Despite the decline in its former dock-trading, Barry retains a surprising variety of industrial and commercial activities. It has land available for new industries or for the expansion of existing ones. The good road and rail links and nearness to a regional airport are also important factors.

The Waterfront regeneration programme is well under way on land formerly owned by Associated British Ports. The project aims to create 1,000 new homes, many of which have now been built, as well as creating an estimated 2,000 jobs, retail developments, sports and leisure facilities.

The Waterfront development may well provide the key to the Town’s future prosperity, offering a first-class location for new investment.
