The Council is also responsible for the management and running of the Pioneer Hall, Beryl Road, and provides 90% of the staff with day-to-day responsibility for running the Memorial Hall and Theatre.

The Memorial Hall & Theatre is one of a number of commemorative memorial buildings constructed by communities following the end of the Great War in 1918. Barry’s is almost certainly the largest such facility in Wales. It is overseen by a charitable trust drawn from the Town Council and the local community (five members each) together with two co-opted representatives.
